HelloFresh Review

I'm about to be real honest here.

I hate dinner time.
Of course I have always loved cooking. But when you have a toddler who requires your undivided attention when you get home from work. Things can get tricky. Some days she is content playing in the kitchen while I cook. But other days, she's at my feet whining and wanting me to hold her. I don't blame her because I know she missed me all day. So to help with the dinner time stress, my husband and I decided to give HelloFresh a try.
And here is our thoughts.
We have received two boxes, so this is the first one we tried.

Have you heard of HelloFresh? Most people have by now because meal delivery services are becoming quite popular. I mean who doesn't want meals delivered to their door..already planned out for them? And all you have to do is prepare and cook it. Amazing and so simple. HelloFresh is a weekly meal delivery system. You can choose you meals you like from 6 recipes. And you can choose either for 2-4 or family plan. It's so simple to navigate so their site is extremely user friendly. Also, if you don't want to get deliveries every week. You can skip as many weeks as you would like to. Cost wise it can be pricey, but that depends on what your food budget is.
We get a shipment once a month, sometimes twice depending on if we want to try a recipe.

So now to the food, because that's what you are really waiting for aren't you?

When you get your box, it contains the three meals (or however many you choose) and everything is packaged so well. We plan on shipment to be delivered on a day my husband is home so it doesn't sit outside. So I can't say for sure if the food stays cold, but it usually is cold when we receive it.

All of the ingredients are fresh and organic, which I love. My main goal is feeding my family healthy and nutritious meals, that also taste good.

Everything is already measured out for you. So there is no measuring. Just washing and preparing. The first meal we tried was the Balsamic Chicken Rustico. This was probably one of my favorites. And it took about 30-40 minutes to make.
The instructions are really easy to follow (plus they use pictures as well)

The portions in my opinion are pretty big, and with a toddler we can get three meals out of them for her. She loved this one too.

Next was the Ginger Beef Stir Fry.
I'm not a beef person, I'll eat it but I can't say it's one of my favorites. BUT I did really enjoy this recipe. So much better than take out! I'd make this one again, but maybe with chicken.

Lastly, the Feisty Shrimp Linguine.
Okay, this one was just okay to me. I braved making this all on my own with a clingy toddler so it didn't turn out as near as good as it could. I overcooked the noodles and the sauce. So I think if I didn't do that it would have been better. I omitted the red pepper flakes because I don't like anything spicy.

My husband really liked all of them.
But he loves food so much that it takes a pretty gross meal for him not to like it.
He cooked some meals and I cooked others, and we both agreed that how easy and simple the instructions are is definitely what makes us love HelloFresh.
