"Sugar Free" Good or Bad?

Going sugar free, means eliminating all sugar. I have noticed that many people think since they have to cut out sugar, that items labeled sugar free are okay. Well I'd just like to make it a point and express my opinion on these so called "sugar free" foods.

Have you ever seen these labels?

These are just a few examples. But you get the picture.

I have already listed the effects sugar has on your body, here. Sugar free seems like a good alternative to a treat that has just normal sugar, right?

WRONG!

You know what these "sugar free" products contain? Fake sugar. Yes, it's still sugar, but it is chemically processed to be less calories and supposedly sugar free. These alternatives, can be so much more harmful than just plain white sugar. I'm not even kidding. Let me show you the facts.

Let me start off with Splenda:

Splenda contains sucralose, which is an artificial sweetener. Which should be a red flag right there! Why you use something that says it's artificial?! Just because there is 0 calories, doesn't make it good for you, at all. James Turner, the chairman of the national consumer education group Citizens for Health, has expressed shock and outrage after reading a new report from scientists outlining the dangers of the artificial sweetener Splenda. Here are just some of the research they have found.

  • reduces the amount of good bacteria in your intestines by 50 percent
  • increases the pH level in your intestines, and
  • affects a glycoprotein in your body that can have crucial health effects, particularly if you’re on certain medications
They also found unmistakable evidence that Splenda is absorbed by fat, contrary to previous claims.
It’s truly disturbing that Splenda can destroy up to 50 percent of your healthy intestinal bacteria, as these bacteria help maintain your body's overall balance of friendly versus unfriendly micro-organisms, and support your general health. Many people are already deficient in healthy bacteria due to choosing highly processed foods.

Diet foods and drinks can cause serious distortions in your biochemistry and ruin your body's ability to control calories. It’s been shown that diet soft drinks can double your risk of obesity!
Studies were already revealing that artificial sweeteners can:
  • Stimulate your appetite
  • Increase carbohydrate cravings
  • Stimulate fat storage and weight gain
Unfortunately, most public health agencies and nutritionists in the United States still recommend these toxic artificial sweeteners as an acceptable alternative to sugar. Eating Splenda, is like putting a pesticide in your body the Food and Drug Administration has approved of it!!
Some noticeable side effects that Splenda can cause:
  • Gastrointestinal Issues
  • Migraines
  • Seizures
  • Dizziness
  • Blurred Vision
  • Allergic Reactions
  • Blood sugar increases
  • Weight Gain
Why are people still consuming these?! Don't believe they are natural, because they are not at all. And they say sugar free products are safe for people for diabetes. I'm sorry, but why would you make a product that has so many unsafe side effects, and call it "safe"?! Yeah, it may help control blood sugar. But putting something artificial in your body, will only do you more harm.

If a brand says sugar free, most likely it contains a artificial sweetener that is dangerous to your health.

That isn't the worst of it. Most sugar free foods contain aspartame. Aspartame is 200x sweeter than actual sugar and can be highly addictive. Other products that contain aspartame are, diet sodas, yogurt, chewing gum, cooking sauces, chips, flavored water, sweeteners, and cereal.
You thought the side effects of Sucralose were a lot? Well Aspartame has over 92 health side effects, and counting. Side effects can be gradual, acute, or immediate. If you eat a lot of so called diet foods and suffer from any of these effects below, then your food could be to blame.

Here is the label from the popular Red Bull Energy Drink.

Look closely, You'll find Aspartame.

Did you get all that? If that doesn't make you drop all the diet, sugar free, and processed foods. Than I don't know what will. I'm going to say that Sugar Free is

BAD

There isn't anything good about sugar free and diet foods.

If you need your sugar fix, you're better off choosing a non sugar free item. At least you won't be putting dangerous chemicals into your body.
