First Day Of Spring Means Free Rita's!

Happy First Day Of Spring! Doesn't it feel good to say that?! We are almost out of the cold miserable weather, and I'm beyond excited! Seriously. Just you wait until the first day of summer, I'll be on a "summer high" and probably jumping for joy. I'm not kidding either. For those of you who don't know me personally, you really have no idea how much I love summer. Oh, but you will. I promise you that. 

So around here, it's a tradition to get Rita's today (They give out free Italian Ice on the First Day Of Spring) Okay, probably a lot of people have that tradition. Anyways, I know Rita's isn't in my diet, because of the sugar, and there's NO way I'm even touching sugar free flavors. I explain sugar free labeled foods here. But, for me it wouldn't feel like Spring without a trip to Rita's. I've searched Rita's website for an ingredient list, but couldn't find one. After googling and looking through websites, I think I figured out the ingredients. I am not surprised at all. I have a big decision to make. To eat it or not. Will I live without it, of course. I have always thought Rita's was extremely sweet. I would honestly get the kids size. And I could hardly finish that! 

Pineapple Ice: Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Sugar, Pineapple Juice Concentrate, Natural & Artificial Flavor, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate, FD&C Yellow#5 and FD&C Yellow#6, and Carboxy-methyl, Cellulose

Now, this isn't a fact, but I can imagine that the ingredients are pretty close. I mean, did you really think those were natural colors? So reading over those ingredients, I'm deciding if Rita's is really worth the splurge this year. I do love A LOT of the flavors of the Italian Ice. Last year, Peanut Butter and Jelly was my thing.  It sounds awful, Caleb, and my friends were not fans. But I loved it...Oh well. 

I know Rita's is a loved treat around here. And being a fan of it for years, it's hard for me to imagine summer without it. You say, an occasional treat won't hurt. No, not really. But if I'm trying to kick Candida out of my body, it'll probably be huge setback. Also, I wouldn't be setting a very good example of my diet and what I write about if I give in to this SpringTime treat. Right now, I just want to jump in the car and go get some. I'm waiting for Caleb to get home, because he said we'd go then. Well, I have until he gets home to decide what I really should do. I will let you know what I decide. Maybe words of encouragement will talk me out of it  ;)
