Valentine's Day Brownies


Valentine’s Day is creeping up on us very fast. Are you ready for it? I know I am!
So, a little back story. I have never really liked Valentine’s Day. No, I’m not single. I just think it’s a bit ridiculous that people have just one day dedicated to showing how much they love and care for their significant other. I think you should do that every day. No, doesn’t mean you go out and buy something everyday. You should show the one you love everyday how much you care and appreciate them. Even if it just means telling them. Well, a year ago on Valentine’s Day, that all changed for me. I would go into a very long story (believe me, I could!) But I will just get to the good part. Caleb decided to use the fact that I don’t care for Valentine’s Day to completely surprise me and throw me off guard. And propose! And boy did he ever do a good job. I was in complete shock for about a month! We were dating for four years at the time. So I knew the time was coming, but wasn’t sure when. When he didn’t propose over the holidays, I automatically thought it would be in the summertime on vacation. To my surprise I was very wrong. I remember that day down to every single detail. Which is funny, because most of the time I can’t remember what I had for breakfast ;) The proposal was perfect, the ring is perfect, the day was perfect, and I have such an amazing Fiance! Now, this year Valentine’s Day is kind of a big deal. I LOVE it now! I see so many cute ideas, food to make, and just a lot of pink and red stuff! Maybe sometime I will do a separate post about how he proposed, maybe just maybe. Depends if you want to hear ^_^
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I started to bake cute little treats.
I’ll start with my heart shaped brownies. This is a super simple recipe. Gives you extra time to decorate your brownies however you would like.
Gluten Free Brownies
Aren’t the just adorable?! Well I think so. These aren’t sugar free. But they are gluten and dairy free. I will admit, I only tried the icing, just a small amount to make sure it tasted good. But I’m trying to stay on track. I wanted to bake, well because I am a baker. I love to bake. Even if it’s things that I can’t have. I just enjoy it.
