The Paleo Diet

I have found a name to the diet I should be following. Well, I don’t really want to say I’m on any type of diet. Because it’s going to be my lifestyle. It’s the Paleo Diet.
Paleo Diet~ also popularly referred to as the caveman dietStone Age diet and hunter-gatherer diet, is a modern nutritional plan based on the presumed ancient diet of wild plants and animals.
Centered on commonly available modern foods, the “contemporary” Paleolithic diet consists mainly of fish, grass-fed pasture raised meats, eggs, vegetables, fruit, fungi, roots, and nuts. You’ll want to avoid grains, legumes, dairy products, potatoes, refined salt, refined sugar, and processed oils.
Many people follow this diet to help lose weight. Since we live in a society today that’s filled with processed foods, our bodies really aren’t used to it. You say, well I grew up eating this stuff, so it’s normal and ok. Nope, I’m sorry but you are wrong. Our bodies really can’t process the high amounts of sugar and chemicals that are put into foods these days. That’s why you will find a lot of people develop food allergies as well as many complications. There are high numbers of obesity, diabetes, and other diseases these days. Back in time when all they had to eat was the food they farmed and hunted. There wasn’t as much of the health issues as we have today. Food got “easier” to buy. Seriously, you drive up to a window, place an order, and your food gets made, all while you are sitting in your car. And you think that is good for you?! Well of course you think it’s normal. It’s how the world has corrupted our thinking. Fast, cheap, and easy is the way to go! *sarcasm*

I really don’t know how many times I can stress the fact that how we eat these days is just wrong. I could go on and on. But you should get the picture by now.
If you would go to the store. By all fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, and fish. Replace all that garbage in your house with healthy foods that have ingredients you can read. That would be easier. Is it more expensive? Yes, unfortunately. I still don’t understand why all natural food is more expensive. But that’s just one more excuse people use. Oh, it’s expensive so I’m going to stick with my microwave dinner and cheese curls. Let me know how that makes you feel in about 10 years…If it doesn’t hit you sooner.
Food is fuel for our bodies. You put good in, and you’ll get good out.
Most sites about The Paleo Diet have books you can read, meal plans to follow. Some come at a price though. The diet, or lifestyle, is easy to follow. You don’t really need a meal plan. Unless you are completely stuck and don’t know what to do. Then that’s totally fine. There are many websites the provide recipes and meal ideas to help you.
So you can follow along with me as I change my lifestyle. I’m thinking about posting meals that I have eaten to give you a better understanding.
It takes A LOT of willpower to change. It’s been a slow transition for me. But I’m getting there. Sugar is my biggest weakness. I will overcome my sugar cravings. I just have to be strict with myself. But any diet. You have to be strict to see changes. If you want to loose weight, you have to be strict. I want to be healthy and regain a healthy stomach, so I have to be strict.
